Capacity Building

Capacity Building responds to recent changes in the HIV epidemic and the need to find effective solutions that improve health outcomes along the HIV care continuum for people with HIV. The main objectives are:

    • Building the capacity of Ryan White Program Recipients and their subrecipients through tools, training, and technical assistance to enroll and engage people with HIV in expanded health care coverage
    • Ensuring that Ryan White Program funding remains a payer of last resort

Capacity Building and encouraging the implementation or replication of effective models of care, will improve systems of care, reduce health disparities, and improve outcomes along the HIV care continuum.  Ultimately Capacity Building will contribute to meeting the goals and objectives of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy:

    • Reduce new HIV infections
    • Increase access to care and optimize health outcomes for people with HIV
    • Reduce HIV-related health disparities and health inequities
    • Achieve a more coordinated national response to the HIV epidemic
